State of Health (SoH) is a battery's current condition vs. when it was new.
State of Health (SoH) is how much of a battery's original performance and capacity remains after use and ageing, usually shown as a percentage. A battery at 85% SoH is not the same as one that is 85% charged.
- Why it matters: A key input for deciding whether a battery continues, moves to second life or is recycled and it influences value, but doesn't set it alone.
